Is your cat on a dry food? Dry Food for cats is a convenience for you but very stressful for your cat’s kidneys. 561-241-9151

As we know, many cat owners leave dry food out all the time for their cats. Some supplement it with wet food, some just leave it down all day. This is the equivalent of feeding your kids a steady diet of fast food for the sake of convenience?

Does you cat drink one cup of water for every 10lbs of kitty? If not then expect kidney issues and urinary issues as your kitty gets older.

If your cat only eats only dry food, then she is likely to be getting less nutrition than a cat eating wet food with an added freeze dried diet. Many low quality dry foods contain a lot of fillers. In the wild, carbohydrates are only about 5% of a cat’s diet – what she gets from ingesting the stomach contents of her prey. In addition, cats on a dry food diet of not even get the opportunity to receive different amino acids from different proteins. A diet of freeze dried formulas do provide your kitty the benefits of different amino aids in their diets.

Cats on a diet of dry food ONLY are slightly more prone to obesity and diabetes than cats who eat wet food with some freeze dried or raw. A diet of high carbohydrate levels in many kinds of kibble is one of the main reason cats suffer from diabetes. Free-choice feeding of dry food which gives cats 24-hour access to food is not the way to go to achieve a healthy, active and strong kitty. We don’t recommend fillers in any food you feed your kitties.

CatMorsels Family.jpgAt Holistic Pet Cuisine, we recommend feeding a cat a diet of Freeze dried/raw food  with a high quality canned food. You can add some canned to a freeze dried or a raw diet. The results will amaze you …Less dander, less allergies, less digestive issues, less urinary issues and most of all less kidney issues. Please don’t continue to stress your kitty kidney’s with a dry, no moisture filled diet of ” potato chips” !They must have moisture to function from the food source and not only from their water bowls.
